Announcing A New Title From Elisha Press
Posted by Jason McIntire | Nov 04, 2013
Today we're excited to announce a new full-length novel by Rachael McIntire: Julie: The Redemption Of The Backyard Bully. This book is available now for free digital download. You can also order the softcover edition and save $2.00 through November 30 with the discount code JULIE-LAUNCH. Be sure to enter our launch giveaway as well; we'll be sending out a free signed softcover copy to one winner every day this week.
Fans of The Reunion may remember Julie Greene, the Gladstones' troublesome neighbor who almost drowned in the creek. This new, longer novel tells Julie's story before and after that incident, through the now-aging eyes of "Grandma" Greene. How can a sullen bully learn to be a selfless friend? How can a jealous young lady learn to be grateful and contented no matter what life brings? What does it mean to follow Jesus in the practical work and play of daily life? All this and more is waiting for you within the pages of Julie.
As with all her writing, the author has drawn many story elements of Julie from incidents in her own life. Growing up in the 1960's, she experienced firsthand the challenges of that tumultuous time. Though the sixties are now long gone, the principles of God remain the same eternally. It is our hope that some of these principles may penetrate young hearts and minds through the story of the backyard bully and her redemption.
Unlike our previous titles, Julie has illustrations - nineteen of them, in sharp grayscale, like the one at left. We appreciate the hard work of our artists, Tim and Jennie McIntire, in creating both the illustrations and cover art.
We'd also like to send a shout out to our launch team - Christian bloggers and reviewers all over cyberspace who chip in their time and resources to help spread the word about Elisha Press.
Above all, we're grateful to our Heavenly Father, who not only inspires our writing and art, but gives us the wherewithal to see every project through. This particular labor of love has been a year in the making, and we trust that God will use it to bless the lives of readers everywhere.
If you'd like to have Julie in your family's Christian library, then please enter the giveaway or go straight to the free download.
