Reviews of "The Reunion"

"You know it’s good when they are ready to re-read it as soon as it’s over"

My daughter, age 9, was completely enthralled with the story and my son, age 7, was also very interested. They looked forward to our reading time each night. When the story was finally over, my daughter asked if she could keep the book in her room so she could have it handy to read again–you know it’s good when they are ready to re-read it as soon as it’s over. She’s also hoping for a sequel so she can continue to know what happens in the lives of the girls in this story!

"This would be a great book to use during Circle Time or Family Worship!"

I love how the book can be used to help our kids to develop godly attitudes and reactions to others. We see the problems that the characters face and how they are able to react in a Christian way, even when it isn’t easy to do it. This would be a great book to use during Circle Time or Family Worship!

"Definitely worth sharing"

I was given the pleasure of receiving a copy of this book found it difficult to put it down until I finished reading it. The characters, though fictional, are very real and go through situations which shed light on what individuals go through on a daily basis… On its own, The Reunion is a wonderful story. Beyond the story itself, the reader is provided with a model example of a Christian family giving us something to live up to as Christians. Definitely worth sharing with the whole family for believers and non-believers alike.

"I never lost the feeling that it was more a story about Jesus than anyone else"

The Reunion is not an ordinary novel. Although I enjoyed the plot and the characters, I never lost the feeling that it was more a story about Jesus than anyone else. Sarah’s adoptive family was Christian, and Jesus was very real to them. Living in a time when homeschooling was rare, the family witnessed for the Lord in practical ways where ever they were: at school, in the neighborhood, and at home....

At times, I almost felt as though I were reading a manual for Christian living, although the story was always front and center. This slim book has much to say to both parents and children....

"It was such a breath of fresh air to read"

Seeing how the Christian family, the Gladstones, pray through every situation great and small, how the children treat others that are unkind with unconditional love and forgiveness and how they trust Jesus will turn bad situations for the good is uplifting and encouraging.

It’s not often that Christian values are shown in such a positive way. No matter what the circumstance, Jesus is always put first. The way He would want a situation handled is always considered and prayed about first. It was such a breath of fresh air to read, and also humbling. reading a manual for Christian living, although the story was always front and center. This slim book has much to say to both parents and children....
