Reviews of "The Sparrow Found A House"

"...this book reminded me of the transforming power of the love of God"

I found myself understanding Jessie. She and her siblings were well developed. As she struggled to understand and accept the changes around her, I felt her pain even though I knew those changes would be for her good.

I loved the plot of this story. A family transformed by the love of a stepdad and God was heartwarming. Sometimes, living in a Christian home, I need to be reminded of how different my life would be without faith. Without getting into anything objectionable, this book reminded me of the transforming power of the love of God.

"...they were all so realistic"

I really enjoyed The Sparrow Found A House because it is so intriguing. It really kept my attention, and I just wanted to keep reading! The characters are so believable I felt like I was reading about something that happened. Plus, I felt like I could understand them more because they were all so realistic. I also love that book encompasses the life of a family drawing closer to God. It really is a unique journey, and The Sparrow Found A House portrays this journey in such a neat way since there are many family members of various ages and personality types. I loved reading how each family member responded!

"...spot-on with Biblical truths"

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and so appreciate the morals presented. With things like violent video games, modesty, money, and friendships addressed, it was spot-on with Biblical truths in a great story format that never feels like preaching.

"...hard hitting but understandable"

I really enjoyed this novel. It was very true to life. I’ve read quite a few books and I’m often disappointed when characters do things people would never do or talk in an unrealistic manner. However, in this novel I could see many of these situations happening just as they were written – and the relationships are much like ones I see in the world around me, in my own life even....

I loved the realistic discussions of Christ and faith as well – it was hard hitting but understandable, and more importantly – relatable. I’ve read a few Christian novels where the main characters were either very “holier than thou” or the complete opposite! This novel shows us a real Christian family, not perfect but instead going through life challenges and experiencing it’s joys as well.

"...caused me to seriously contemplate the way I live my life for Christ"

I have stayed away from fictional books for quite some time now. Too often they promote fantastical ideas that are contrary to the word of God: whether it be the story line, the creatures/characters, how people are interacting one with another in the story, the desires it promotes in its readers, etc....

However, I recently had the delight to read a piece of fictional material, that captivated me! It is titled, “The Sparrow Found A House.” I had a difficult time stopping my reading pace, for I desired to devour this book! It had me weeping, rejoicing, contemplating – all in a God-fearing manner...

Not often have I heard of fictional books that are favorable to the God-fearing, homeschooling, families of the world. This book is not just entertaining, but an exhortation to all Christians. I will admit, this book was the first fictional one that caused me to seriously contemplate the way I live my life for Christ.
